The Battle for USACH

As part of the continuing fight for education reform, youths barricaded themselves inside the gates of Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH) on Thursday, Feb. 2.

The campus was held for over an hour and a half. Police were met with molotov cocktails and flying rocks, while those inside were bombarded with teargas and water cannons.

By the end of the afternoon over 20 arrests were made, and more than 40 were injured while the very institution the protesters had been aiming to save was destroyed.
